City of Bila Tserkva was founded in 1030 by the famous Kievan Prince Yaroslav the Wise as a settlement of St. George Fortress, which served for protection from nomadic tribes. During the invasion of the Mongols the Fortress was burned, but later on the site of the fortress an white church was built, in this way city have got its name ("Bila Tserkva" can be translated inro ukranian as "white church"). Today, the population of Bila Tserkva is more than 200,000. A lot of indastrial covpanies operate in Bila Tserkva such as CJSC "Rosava" (chemical industry), NPP "BelotserkovMAZ", LLC "BelotserkovAgroMash" (mechanical engineering).
